The Stupidity Of The Biden Administration Knows No Bounds
by Simon inso picture this, you are suddenly withdrawing troops after 2 decades in a country and, well, its all gone to shit.. how do you ensure that your vulnerable citizens and allies can get out when the airport is surrounded and no one can get through?.
option 1: it's a trick question surely?
you don't get yourself into this mess in the first place - you withdraw the citizens first, not last, duh!.

I know the kidnapping part sounds far fetched, but I have seen in my own family where the JW grandparents made wild DFS accusations against their DF’d child in an attempt to gain custody of the grandchild so that they could “save” the grandchild.
Of course the accusations were investigated and found to be false, but the hell it put the parents through was inexcusable. Never trust a JW.

Overweight Jehovah’s Witnesses
by minimus inwhat was your kingdom hall like when it came to overweight witnesses?
i remember counseling some people on their drinking habits.
a few snickered that if we were going to counsel them because they have had way too many at a wedding reception, what about very overweight witnesses that have a lifestyle of overindulgence?

When I was in 20 plus years ago, most in our congregation were not obese. We were all active and did things together that constituted exercise. There were a couple who would be considered overweight but not obese.
The last time I was “home” I couldn’t believe how much weight people were carrying on their former svelte frames. Most were on some sort of anti depressants that caused them to gain weight. Others were just depressed and ate their feelings. It’s sad really.

I think the process of waking up was so much different 20 years ago. There wasn’t the depth of information available, the internet wasn’t a social support mechanism like it is now. I know when I was leaving 20+ years ago debating the teachings was how I eventually got “deprogrammed” from the cult. Finding a tribe that was willing to question the teachings was so comforting. Most people leaving now, already know its all made up.
It’s different now.

Logical Fallacy… can I get some help here?
by DATA-DOG indr. leanna wen is currently spreading the fallacy that unvaccinated persons should have vaccines mandated because they are like drunk drivers… they have the right to be drunk at home she says, but wanting to be part of society at large without being vaccinated is like driving drunk and putting others at risk.
besides ignoring the science proving that persons who have had sars cov-2 have natural immunity that equals or exceeds anything that could be imparted from the mrna shot, without the side effects or need for boosters, ( sorry big pharma, you’ll be losing $$$ ) this illustration just smacks of illogical reasoning.
it reminds me of the borg comparing getting baptized to getting your driver’s license.

The part I find particularly ironic, is that the Libs are all about pro-choice when it comes to abortion, my body my choice. But not so much when it comes to vaccines. For the vaccines they resort to this kind of drivel. And yes I am vaccinated - my choice. -

Since You Have Left The Religion Are You Happier?
by minimus ini realize that some activist exjws really don’t seem to be happy in life.
they finally got away from the organization and yet seem still negatively connected to it.
some exjws are always upset because of what the “truth “ did to their lives, which is understandable.

Absolutely happier. I was depressed when “in” never felt like enough, always trying to please everyone else.
I left. I went to school, found my tribe, married and have a full life. Love my husband, love my job, love my life - the one I chose and built.

I was out with another “sister”. She leaned up against the railing on the porch, it wasn’t attached and she fell in the bushes. I tried to help her up and fell on top of her. Fortunately no one was home and it was before video doorbells. 🤣

What Do You Think About Home Schooling?
by minimus ini knew a few witnesses who were very proud of the fact that their kids were homeschooled.
years ago, i would raise my eyebrows wondering why these families couldn’t simply integrate their kids with other “worldly” kids.
at this point in time, with so many theories being pushed on kids and their parents, i can see why parents, if they are qualified, could instruct their kids themselves.

My personal experience with home schooled JW’s was that the kids were getting no education and were even more socially stunted than other JW kids. The examples I am thinking of the kids didn’t know simple world geography ie that Canada was a separate country called Canada not Canadia. Yeah their parents were great home school teachers.

Covid Vaccine - Which One
by SadElder ini had just about decided to get the johnson & johnson vaccine and the issue of the guillain barre syndrome came up.
i realize it's a distant possibility but it gave me pause to reconsider.
i'm not fully onboard with the mrna method yet.. if you received the vaccine ..... which one, and can you share why that one?.

I got the Moderna vaccine because I live in a rural area and didn’t have access to the Pfizer vaccine due to the storage requirements. I haven’t had any issues except for the 48 hours after the second shot.
I travel a lot for work and decided to get the vaccine. I am middle aged. I don’t have an opinion either way on what other people should do.
